Advocacy • 2015–2017
The project “Advocacy for the involvement of County Councils in the Oltenia Region in the Roma inclusion process” (2015–2017) aimed to change the way Roma policies are designed by promoting responsibility at county level. Based on extensive research carried out in 84 localities across four counties, the project highlighted the major problems faced by Roma communities and proposed a pilot program for integrated inclusion.
Consultations, public debates, and institutional meetings were organized to encourage County Councils to adopt action plans and allocate resources. The initiative influenced regional planning and later contributed to the adoption of county-level inclusion plans in several counties, strengthening the role of local authorities in this field.
